Somehow this seems to develop into a wrong direction: few postings but many deaths.
Gils Scott-Heron never was a hero to me nor did I follow his ‘career’ in any way. But I recognized him to be a man who had something to say. In fact I wished that his impact on the rap and hip hop community had been deeper than it actually was. He died yesterday (2011, may 27th)
I can’t measure how important he was but there was a time when I used to buy hip hop records. As time went on the stuff grew uglier and more stupid all the time. They should have listened to him:
